I used the previous comments to assist in my final choice. The binder is not rigid, which I prefer. Rigid binders tend to have more weight. I was looking for a little lighter weight alternative, as I have decided to go back to more paper planning. I am far more organized about my time with paper. Yet, I can keep my tablet in the back of the binder for easy access and cross referencing. The world is still electronic based and for me, I need both. (I've been using Franklin Covey products for almost 20 years.) As an architectural designer and project manager I need to be electronic but find I'm a visual learner and putting it to paper locks it in best for me. Hence I use both methods, until I can get this down comfortably. :) I gave it 4 stars, as I expected the leather to be softer than it is. The pebbled finish is probably more durable, but I like to feel the softness. Oh well.

Like most FC products I have seen, this is nice and priced on the high end. I don't think it is a particularly good value except that real leather seems to be hard to find, especially if you want specific options. The binder was represented accurately in the description and worked well for the intended purpose.

I tried to transition to an electronic calendar and planner - but I always feel such a level of comfort using the Franklin Covey Planner. It truly makes a remarkable difference in my productivity and goal setting. I have come to realize that the combination of a Paper Planner - with the use of my electronic calendar is the perfect fit for me.

Decided this year to go back to the basics with time management. I used Franklin for many years and it was refreshing to go back to it. This binder, at first, was not impressive. I have now been using it for a couple weeks and it is fantastic. The unstructured side I actually like. Plenty of pockets and a zippered one. I have four months in there with room for my iPad. Your iPad will fit in the back sleeve which I really like.

Really wish I had noticed this planner wasn't 1.5". It doesn't hold but 6 months of my refill. Pretty negative if you work a few months out and need to plan on paper. I recommend only with that in mind!
