I bought one of the first Financial Plans Supplements put out by Franklin Covey, and found it so full of forms I couldn't use that I never bought another one - until just this past year, when I decided to give it another look. It's changed - for much the better. There are still a few forms I won't be using, but far fewer than in that first supplement, and what I will be using - the Monthly Expense form, the Investment Tracker, the Bill Tracker, and Debt Elimination Schedule, among others - sums up our financial status almost at a glance. Now that my husband and I are retired, it's more important than ever to keep track of our expenses, both actual and projected, and these forms are just the ticket. Not only can I show my husband clearly where our money is going, but I can also illustrate to our kids (and anyone else who will listen!) how to track expenses in order to set up a realistic budget. So glad I gave this a second chance!

I got this product when it first came out, but didn't really get into using it until last year. What was I waiting for! I use the Monthly Expense Tracker to track my purchases every day. Then, at the end of the day, I transfer the amounts into the budget categories I've set up. At the end of the month, I have a complete record of my expenditures, and I transfer those into the Yearly Income and Expense Tracker and the Yearly Income-Tax Deduction Tracker. The Debt Elimination Schedule is perfect for keeping track of mortgage and credit-card interest - I'd enter them in different color inks, so I'd know which was tax-deductible - and while it took me a while to get used to the format of the Investment Tracker, it's now one of the most useful tools in my arsenal.

So...why only four stars? Two reasons: One, there aren't enough forms in the pack for me to keep track of an entire year's worth of expenditures. OK, that's what the Form Wizard is for, and I do print out my forms, but that assumes I have the time to sit down and do that - not always the case. I wish that at least the Monthly Expense Tracker were available as a packaged form. And the second reason - well, in 2013 I will have been a Franklin Planner user for 20 years. When I first started, Franklin had a foldout check register that expanded into a spreadsheet. When they phased out the spreadsheet, I bought, I think, 20 packages of 25 or 50 sheets each - smartest move I ever made. I use one per month, labelling all the columns with really detailed information, such as the name of each charity I support and a breakdown of Grocery categories; and that's where I enter each day's purchases. That's not possible with any of Franklin's other forms, and I wish, oh I wish, they'd bring it back.

It's a good financial tracker. Has everything you really need. The one trouble is making myself use it. I tend to procrastinate on these forms. Hopefully I can break myself of this habbit.

I think I would advise getting it in a larger size than my "Classic" and put it in its own binder. It's not really something that's required with a daily planner.

My finances cover almost every aspect of my life and it is great to have the information needed at my fingertips. I don't use all the pages as some do not apply to my particular life, but all are usable. Currently I am only using 6 of the twelve tabs, but there are plenty of things I can think of for their use and the extra tabs to customize them to my needs is a boon. The tab labels' bell shape was the only difficulty I have had, ie applying them. A pair of scissors and two quick clips and I no longer had that prpoblem.

Personal use for calendar events for local club activities and other uses. Have always used FranklinCovey products for such uses. Have never had any issues with product items from FranklinCovey.
